49 Hour film challenge at Indian pueblo cultural centerThe film challenge is an additional event for the annual Pueblo Film Fest held the third weekend in November, Native American Heritage month. The challenge will inspire local, new, young filmmakers to the ever-growing film industry for Indigenous people. Filmmakers have 49 hours to produce a small film, using any type of audio/video recorder.

– The filming period will be Friday, November 8, 5 pm through Sunday, November 10 at 6 pm.

– Screening/Judging: Saturday, November 16, 2019 (1 hour 30 min block of time in Pueblo Film Fest schedule)

– Awards: Sunday, November 17


Deadline to apply for this challenge is Sunday, September 15, 2019, 4:30pm – Application form will be available here shortly.

Themes: Each team will select one of the following themes at random:

1680, Education, Nature, MMIW, Comedy, Romance, Action/Adventure, Indigenous Sci-Fi, Leadership, Juxtaposition

Extra Points: Special Guest – Pueblo person preferred

Suggested Props:

    • Rez dog, traditional hair bun, Pueblo oven bread, frybread, Pueblo pies, corn, river/bosque, mountain, forest, Kool-Aid pickles

Each film must include:

    • Our Words. Our Wisdom
    • Physical location of Indian Pueblo Cultural Center
