Summer vacation is just around the corner, and the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center is pleased to announce that it will offer two sessions of its celebrated summer day camp this year. Our first session is designed for students 6-9 years old and will take place June 8-12th, 2009. Our second session is designed forstudents 10-12 years old and will take place June 15-19th, 2009.

This year’s summer camp is an emersion based experience, exploring Pueblo culture, history, art, music, agriculture and cooking. Each session will feature workshops with world renowned Pueblo potters, painters, and musicians. Campers will work in our newly planted garden with Pueblo farmers who are continuing the 10,000 year old Pueblo agricultural tradition. We will take a trip to Acoma pueblo where the campers will have an opportunity to learn about the culture of the Acoma people and have first hand contact with Acoma Sky City village, one of the longest continuously inhabited place in the country. The last day of each session will be dedicated to the cooking of a Pueblo feast to which all camper’s families are invited. Campers will work directly with Pueblo cooks to bake traditional bread and make the celebratory closing feast.

Registration deadline is May 26, 2009
