Mother’s Day at the IPCC

May 1, 2017

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, we’re Museum Exhibit - Modern Environmentlooking forward to hosting families for a day of cuisine, gift-giving, and cultural experiences here at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center! In honor of mothers everywhere, we’re taking $2 off museum admission on Sunday, May 14, so you can celebrate Mom by treating her to our newly-renovated exhibits and traditional Native dances.

Mother's Day at PHCMake a day of it by dining at the Pueblo Harvest Cafe before or after, too! From 10am to 4pm, our full-service restaurant will serve a delicious Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet including breakfast dishes, entrees, a carving station, sides, salads, and desserts. Mothers will even receive a complimentary glass of champagne or mimosa!

Across the hall from the restaurant, Shumakolowa Native Arts’ showcases of December Dance Photoauthentic Native-made jewelry and art will feature an exclusive new line of gift items: ceramic mugs bearing traditional and contemporary designs by potters working in the Pueblos of Acoma, Zia, San Ildefonso, and Isleta. The mugs’ designs are pulled from five different artists’ original handcrafted pottery, on display at the Pueblo-owned Starbucks at Avanyu Plaza across the street from Shumakolowa Native Arts.

You may remember these striking pieces of pottery from last fall, when we introduced a line of travel mugs based on their designs. Many of you asked about having their designs on ceramic mugs as well, and we agreed it was a great idea! Now here they are, just in time to make a beautiful Mother’s Day gift. Order yours online at Shumakolowa.com, or shop in-store when you visit on May 14!
